Alright, looking at things, here's what I'm thinking... These are what's in PF, where we're going to steal the crap out of. Acrobatics, Appraise, Bluff, Climb, Craft , Diplomacy, Disable Device, Disguise, Escape Artist, Fly, Handle Animal, Heal, Intimidate, Knowledge, Linguistics, Perception, Perform, Profession, Ride, Sense Motive, Sleight of Hand, Spellcraft, Stealth, Survival, Swim, Use Magic Device. We want to add something for Suppress, some more Modern skills, and so on, correct? I suppose we could make a Reiatsu Use skill, folding Suppress and the Intimidate function into it. Take the skills from the Modern Path as well. Any other ideas? I'll toss together something regarding class skills, too.

Shinigami classes:
Acrobatics, Climb, Craft, Heal, Intimidate, Knowledge (Soul Society) (Kido Lore), Perception, Perform, Sense Motive, Spellcraft.
Add Climb for Warriors and Stealth for Experts. +2 class skills for Warriors and Kido, +4 for Experts.
Hollow classes:
Acrobatics, Climb, Escape Artist, Fly, Heal, Intimidate, Knowledge (Heuco Mundo), Perception, Sense Motive, Stealth, Survival, Swim.
Add Spellcraft and a few more knowledges for Negacionist, including (Negacion).
+2 class skills for Powerhouse and Negacionist, +4 for Stalker
Quincy: Acrobatics, Appraise, Craft, Escape Artist, Heal, Knowledge (Quincy Lore) (Any three), Linguistics, Perception, Perform, Profession, Slight of hand, Spellcraft, Stealth, Survival, Use Magic Device.
+2 Class skills.
Fullbringer:
Acrobatics, Bluff, Craft, Escape Artist, Handle Animal, Heal, Knowledge (Any three), Perception, Perform, Profession, Slight of Hand, Use Magic Device.
+4 class skills
Modsoul: Any 10
Bount:
No one cares about them.
But generally castery skills. Knowledges, Appraise, Linguistics, Profession.
Probably +4 class skills.

While I like the idea of taking the Pathfinder skills, I don't like the idea of jury rigging a class into skills when there has been the policy on this site to allow them to pick up any class skills they want within certain limits. I'd say just give everyone a number of skills to take and let them go willy nilly. But I do like the idea of switching over to PF skills... They service the game alot better.

Well, there's still that. But the way I see it, giving a basic set to everyone, which they can grab extras for of their choosing, is better. It lets us build a basic definition of their capabilities. Quincies are skirmisher types, so their skill list is focused on stealth, mobility, and trickery. Hollows are hunters, so tracking, stealth, ect.

One thing I always liked about this system was the freedom of choice given to the classes over Skills. Taking that away is a major mark against the system in itself.
Like, take the Heal Skill. I can't see EVERY shinigami with it. I can see most, but not all. Yes, I know that could mean that say, Zaraki Kenpachi, didn't put ranks in Heal, but I always liked the freedom of choice that the Skill system gave.

On this note, mayhaps a hybrid. give each class a small number of base skills that would come from their origin, and then give each class a number of choices. looking at TMK's lists, I'd say make it less restrictive. like I can't see them all having heal or even kido lore and spellcraft (give that as a base skill for casters/expert) as we see a lot of shinigami that are useless at magic... so keep some choice, but also avoid the problem of me seeing shinigami without access to things like knowledge (soul society).

5 sounds good, add in a fair number of free choices and it still gives a lot of flexability I also support the idea of folding the reiatsu abilities into a single skill - if nothing else because it means a character with int reiatsu attribute can use their designated stat for some of the uses. it might also be an idea to rewrite suppress' mechanics because it's not that clear - and it means not everyone needs sense motive even if it doesn't make sense for the character (as it implies you can't be spiritually powerful and a lil naive)

Then we should hammer them out.
Everyone but Hollows should get free Craft+Profession.
Everyone but Bount should get free Acrobatics.
Shini need Know (Soul Society), Hollows need Know (Hueco Mundo) and Survival, and Humans should get a couple of free Knowledges that are non-supernatural, maybe with Quincy getting UMD...
