so, in an effort to try and keep things vaugley organised, I made a quincy thread. so we can dump and loose everything in one thread. and the first question, should the destroyer have full base attack bonus. I'd say yes, and drop their hitdice down to d6, since their archers not reserve melee guys. but still, I'm wrong most of the time so... so, any quincy suggestions out there?

Keep the HD at D8 and give them full base attack. Or if you drop the hit dice, give them two good saves instead of one.
In my opinion, they should have a balance of ability between the Expert and Warrior shinigami. Quincy already have a class defense bonus worse than any other class.

Honestly... I'd do all three... d8 HD, Full Base Attack Bonus and 2 good saves.... Most likely Reflex and Will... but I'm a fan of giving my players power. In all seriousness, a Quincy should be just as hard to put down as any other class out there, and with their piss poor defense, HP and saves are the best bet.

Everybody gets one good save and two bad ones.
Nonetheless have you seen the Quincy in the manga? They get smacked down almost as much as non-Ginjo fullbringers.

Yeah, but we're not dealing with the manga. We're dealing with a Roleplaying system that needs balance, and their lack of feats and, as of now, general weakness, makes them underpowered compared to say a Warrior Shinigami or even an Expert shinigami. I'd say that a d8 hit dice, because it's not maximized, results in less than what the Kido Shinigami get every level... the quincy will get 4+Con Modifier in Hit points on average. With that in mind, a d8 becomes fine. Giving them a full base attack bonus covers up a glaring weakness... The fact that they'll never hit. And finally, giving them Reflex and Will as good saves makes it so that they are strong willed and fast on their feet, just like they should be as archers.

The last comment was a joke.
Honestly I have no problem with them keeping the d8 hit die and getting full BAB. I just don't think that Quincy should get two good saves (especially since the way saves work in classes is you pick one good, two bad. That's just an auto-rule meaning you'd have to have a whole "exception" section for quincy.
Picking there saves even more-so. Every Bleach class would have a "Good save, bad save" box except Quincy.

Well it really isn't that much of a change... It's 2 letters. The s at the end of Bad Saves goes away, and becomes the s at the end of Good Saves. It doesn't take any more explanation than that really. To me it balances the class out without introducing wonky new mechanics like Ranged Flurry of Arrows or something.
I'm also in favor of every class having maxed Hit Dice, but that's just me, I find it annoying that the spiritual classes get that kind of a massive bonus and the human ones get shit on for HP.

I have no problem with maximizing hit die, but that's not my say. I'm neutral either way.
I still disagree about the saves thing.

Quincy also lack a use for SEP by the way. Just saying.

Quincy also lack a use for SEP by the way. Just saying. they do, your correct, and if you try and give them one I will activly gut you until you stop ;D that was the plan for the quincy. unlimited, uncapped power but they need to spend time picking it up

Quincy also lack a use for SEP by the way. Just saying. I would say Reiatsu Feats, but they get less feats than any other class and archery is already very feat intensive. Just to keep from taking penalties into melee combat, you need two feats. Then more feats if you want to fire multiple arrows.

but they can use spirit charges in place of SEP for anything, don't forget. thus they still quallify, and they never run out

Maybe a second, quincy only chart that gives them bonuses to spirit charges instead of SEP. There's no reason for them not to have use for an ability.

maybe based on their reitsu stat. the plan for quincies is they don't have SEP at all hmmm, maybe raise their limit by their SEP roll * 1/2 character level, and their charge ammount by 1/2 their roll. or they can be happy they can't be screwed over by rolling a 1

Raising spirit charges based on reiatsu stat sounds fine to me.
