and likely posted in the entirely wrong place, as well.
For Ranged Maneuver (see below) how is the grapple check handled? Does it still run off Strength, or does it use a different stat? Also, would this work with Emanation? If this works with Emanation, would one be able to grapple everything within the emanation? Final question, how would this interact with Arcing Projectiles (also see below)? I have a few other Arcing Projectiles related questions but I will save those till after this one.
Ranged Maneuver:
You can use a special maneuver such as Bull-Rush, Grapple, Trip or Disarm at range, such as with a Projectile or Kido attack. Attacks that do not linger in the air cannot continue a grapple. Use your modifiers when determining the opposed roll, but you do not suffer any penalty for losing. The damage of the attack is still dealt in addition to making the special attack. When grappling, the Ranged Maneuver will, on a successful pin, do automatic damage each turn it keeps the target pinned.
Arcing Projectiles:
As part of a standard action to use a reflex save-based projectile ability, you may use that ability an extra time, reducing the damage on each attack by 1d6. This ability may be taken multiple times, each time reduces the damage of all attacks made in this manner by an additional 1d6 and gives an additional attack.

as it is written right now, RAW-wise anyway, you'd use your strength still, though I'm sure talking with your DM may get the number changed to the relevant statistic since it makes more sense. for emanation, I'd assume you roll seperatly for each creature, just a s acreature with multiple tentacles must roll seperatly to grapple multiple things. RAW again, you'd get to make a second grapple attempt, which is quite nice and no, this was (is?) the right place

Ah, so it is the right place.
Hmm, yeah I'll speak with my GM on that cause playing as an Expert, I wont exactly have a high strength unless we do dice rolls and I get lucky (never do)
Thanks for the information
So, my Arcing Projectiles question is, if I used emanation with arcing projectiles as it is worded right now does it create a new instance of the ability or just a one time instance of it at lower damage?

It'd create two on top of each other, as you create two at once, but both would do lower damage...
which is quite nasty when I look at it o.0

hmm, okay. Well, the current save DC setup for that makes it quite easy to avoid, since to get it to do any decent damage, you'd need to be higher level.

still quite nice make them all trip the foe and you get to have everyone on the floor writhing in pain-ness (and getting tripped twice by the air again next round)

Eh, I don't think you can trip a tripped character. Though, the reason I liked grapple was to show the effects of a blizzard (ice/projectile type) all those nice debilitating ice abilities mixed with Projectile type (think Zenbonzakura but looking like snowflakes instead of cherry blossoms)

I didn;t mean the tripped ones. I meant when they where silly enough to stand up

It'd be like watching a clasic slapstick comedy, save your hated foes are the performers ;D

though by level 12 when you get your first Bankai ability, it'd be all too easy to fail the check on an Expert. 9(BaB)+6(assuming 22 dex and GM allowed dex for ranged maneuver) to trip/grapple granted a +15 is nothing to sneeze at but likely things at that level have much higher.

Ranged Maneuver needs fixed..
For instance, grappling with a Kido would.. well, be based on your Reiatsu stat.

What about projectile type? Also, if I used a mass AoE projectile ability, would I roll the grapple once, or multiple times?

I have not so much a question as an observation about the SEP system progressions. I post it here because I have heard several players in my RL games ask what the formula is.
Pathetic(1) => Average delayed by two levels Low(2) => Average delayed by one level Average(3) => As Psywar PP progression Medium(4) => As Psion PP progression High(5) => Average + Medium Extraordinary(6) => about Medium x 1.5 (within .5) Extreme(7) => Average + Extraordinary Insane(8) => High x 2, 1st level is only exception with eight
