You've already used non OGL material, what's stopping you this time?

You've already used non OGL material, what's stopping you this time? The fact that my use was maneuvers, a variant that didn't go into great detail about the rules in there and which is unlikely to be put into a pdf?

So, an idea, for the pdf. See, we can't reprint the d&d 3.5 Xp chart, since it's not OGL. So we should come up with one of our own. may I ask why we need one, rather than telling them to use the 3.5 one, since thi is an expansion on 3.5? also, it's hardly a chart so much as each subesequent level takes 1k more exp than the last. they can't copyright mathematics. I know. I've tried. so if our chart ends up simmilar, well, there's nothing they can do about it. especially since there's nothing intresting about their system. its just 1 then 2 then 3 then 4 then 5 then 6 then 7 then 8 with 000s at the end ;D especially since pathfinder has the exact same chart. experiance charts and the level system is already pure OGL because it vastly preadtes DnD 3.5 and thus free to use. though leveling when the DM says works, I like exp because it means players can be rewarded for being more fun/inventive. but the latter works. also, how goes the proof-reading?

also, how goes the proof-reading? Shh! The near mythic proof-reader is easily frightend and retreats deep into it's den at the first sign of danger, primarily when it discovers that it's natural camoflage has failed. It will, of course, return in time to it's nesting ground however it may take years to do so.

@bom: See? You triggered his danger sense.
Anyway, since they are OGL why don't we use the pathfinder experience table for this? Or is that a huge evil change I missed that would horribly unbalance the game?

Eh. It's more that we can write a "this is how you adapt X to work for this" thing, but not add X in automatically.
ALSO.
There's typically a problem with low-level games- HP being low enough that a lucky crit or normal roll ends characters with a single hit.
I suggest we adopt something from Star Wars SAGA: triple HD in Hp at first level.
So a 1st level Warrior Shini would have 36+Con mod HP. Fitting, for a series where people take so much punishment without dying, even from the get-go.
It would certainly make things less squishy. Or we could go with twice HD+Con

I'd say that's a good idea, though let's up the ante a little more and make it Triple HD + Constitution Score instead of Modifier. That way a 1st level Warrior Shinigami with an 18 Constitution would have 54 hit points. Impressive yes, but when you figure in all the damage this system deals, it won't last long.

Then Max+Con Mod at each additional? Seems fair to me.

I mean Max+Con for Spiritual beings. Roll+Con for everyone else. Because we need to emasize how humans are useless.

That's fine by me... Though I never liked the Human Weakness, it IS part of the Manga.
