Bakudo:
bind strength: some Bakudo spells bind the targets limbs, mind etc. the nature of the escape roll is described in each spell, but the DC will usually be equal to 10 + spell level + caster level. unless otherwise stated, this is the DC for any test caused by the spell
Resiliance: Some Bakudo spells create solid objects that serve as a wall or barrier. these have a resiliance (hardness
but ava likes this name) equal to the spells level, or 1/2 caster leve, whichever is higher
Bakudo 01: Sai (block)[force, creation]level shinigami 1
incantation unknown
range Medium (100 ft + 10 * caster level)
target: Unlimited; see below
casting time standard
duration 10 minute per caster level
save: strength/escape artist
spell resistance no
effect: the caster points at their target, causing their arms to be locked behind their back by a rush of force.
the target is unable to ake use of their arms until they break free of the bind, though they can still perform any action that does not require use of their arms.
breaking the bind is either an escape artist test (at dc + 5) or strength test that can be performed as soon as the spell is cast, and then each further round as a move equivelant action.
alternitavely, the caster may target multiple foes with this spell. the save dc and duration is split equally (rounding up) between each victim
Bakudo 04: Hainawa (Crawling Rope)[light, creation]level shinigami 1
incantation unknown
range medium (100 ft + 10 * caster level)
target: single
casting time standard
duration 10 minute per caster level
save: relfex negates; see below
spell resistance no
effect: A stream of golden rope extends from the casters fingers and surounds the victim, preventing them from moving or acting. The target may take a reflex save to avoid the rope. If they fail, then the victim is
Stunned for a number of rounds equal to the caster's caster level. if they pass the reflex save, they are instead
entangled.
Escaping from the ropes is a standard action that requires either a strenght test, or a dc+5 escape artist test.
the rope is both flamabble (though this does not destroy it) and conducts eletricity
Bakudo 08: Seki (Repulsion)[force, creation]level shinigami 1
incantation unknown
range medium
target: single
casting time standard
duration 1 minute per caster level
save: no (harmless)
spell resistance yes (harmless)
effect: a clear disk of force forms somewhere, protecting the target. this disk repels anything that strikes it, and temporarily paralyzes them.
the target of the spell gains a +4 shield bonus to AC and +4 spell resistance, though they gain no penalties for using a sheild (and still gain the bonus even if they have no free hands).
In addition, when the shild is struck by a close combat attack, the attack must pass a will save or be stunned for 1 round, and knocked back 10 ft.
so, getting started on Bakudo to get Ava off my back. spell number 1's her version of it, spell number 4's not and spell number 8 is new
also, an expansion on the Hankai feat from the last post.
HankaiHankai is the art of emmiting equal power to negate a Kido spell. it is a precice art, normally unique to the Kido corps, though it is possible for anyone with spirirtual energy to learn the art.
prerequisites: spellcraft (or whatever we use in it's place) 8, knowledge (kido) 8.
benefit: Whenever someone with the Hankai ability is the target of any Kido, they may spend a number of SEP to attempt to negate the spell. they may either guess the ammount of SEP needed, or take a spellcraft check with a dc of (10 + spell level + enemy caster level) to determine the ammount of SEP needed. the DC is increased by a further 10 is the spell is incantaionless. if they guess or spend an ammount of SEP equal to or greater than the spell (with all the augmentations/half augmentations incantationless) then the spell is negated.
the user must reasonably be able to react to the spell, to be able to neagte it. they also cannt negate a spell if they are denied their dexterity bonus to AC, as they;re to busy foccusing elsewhere.
In addition, Hankai can be used to negate ongoing spells whilst they are active, such as a Bakudo bind. Identifying the spell takes either the normal process of determining the spell (with the extra +10 if they did not hear the incantation), or 3 rounds of study.
so, whatd'ya think?
